1.What is e-Commerce?
 This is an online service by CIMB Bank for merchants to access and view their e-commerce transactions via our secured payment gateway (certified for MasterCard SecureCode and Verified by Visa).
 
  
2.What are the objectives?
 
e-Commerce aims to:
Improve customer service with additional payment channels.
Reinforces the Bank’s position as the leading edge technology facilitator
 
  
3.How does e-Commerce benefit merchants?
 
The facility allows merchants to enjoy:
Fast and secured payments from customers over the internet.
Guaranteed settlement for approved transactions from the Bank.
Improved cashflow and collection.
Reduced cost of cash and cheque handling.
Reduced manpower cost as the back-end functions are automated (through the system)
Concise and easy to comprehend reports.
Low set-up and investment cost.
Enhanced goodwill as customers get more value-added service via our convenient payment option.
 
  
4.What are the functional features?
 
Among others, key features include:
User friendly interface as merchants get to view the transaction details, status and results all from one screen.
Hassle-free information management.
Ability to check blacklisted credit card numbers prior to authorizing a transaction.
Ability to monitor fraud activities and flag out suspicious transactions.
  
5.Is there a fee to use this facility?
 No the facility if free of charge.
  
6.Who can apply for this facility?
 Application is open to merchant partners who have signed-up for the merchant service with CIMB Bank and those who have enrolled for e-Commerce
  
  
Registration
 
7.How can I apply for e-Commerce?
 You have to Sign-up to become our registered merchant. All you have to do is to download and fill-in the merchant registration form. Once the form is completed, submit or fax it to the following address:

8.How long will the registration process take?
 The process takes approximately 3 days.
  
9.What is the information needed for registration?
 
The following details are required for registration:
iMerchant account number
iiName of authorised personnel
iiie-Mail address
ivCorrespondence address
vTelephone and fax number
  
  
System Requirements and Security
 
10.What are the system requirements?
 
Minimum Hardware requirement includes:
Minimum Hardware requirement includes:
Processor: Pentium and above
RAM: 64 MB RAM memory
Hard disk capacity: 100MB free hard disk space
  
However for optimum performance, here is the recommended hardware:
Processor: Pentium II and above
RAM: 128 MB RAM memory
Hard disk capacity: Minimum of 100MB free hard disk space
128 kbps Bandwidth Connection
  
11.What are the available built-in security features?
 
Username and Password Protection - Registered merchants (users) will be assigned a User Identity (ID) and password to log-in.
Strict User Access
 iAuto revocation of ID after three failed attempts or after a certain period of inactivity.
 iiRegular change of password (forced).
 iiiAuthenticated user detection through IP address.
   
Security
 iCommunication between Client and Web Server via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Protocol. This is a security protocol that allows application to communicate without being exposed to eavesdropping, tampering or message forgery and prevent the same user to logon simultaneously.
 iiCritical information such as password and credit card information will be encrypted and stored in database with algorithm of at least 128-bit strength.
 iiiThe website is verified by Verisign.
   
12.What should I do upon failing to log-in after several attempts?
 You can call our Merchant Service Hotline at 03-62047733 for assistance.
  
13.How can I retrieve the forgotten password?
 Click on “Forgot Password” option and follow the instructions to get your replacement password.
  
14.Do I need to install any program?
 No, since this is a web based application it requires no program installation.

16.Can I edit the information online?
 No. All records are read-only
  
17.Can the transaction information be downloaded?
 No.

 The status will be reflected online once the transaction has been processed.
  
19.Is there a limit to the number of access that I can make per day?
 There is no limit to the number of access per day.
  
20.Will I be logged-off automatically if I leave the screen for more than 5 minutes?
